Description
Queen Victoria 10c brown Nesbitt Postal Stationery Envelope, fractionally reduced on opening at right, but a very fine used example with “37” in rings cancellation, from Quebec to Charlestown with despatching datestamp of April 30th 1860 on face and Montreal transit backstamp. At the time of issue these envelopes proved unpopular and consequently used examples paying the correct rate are most uncommon. Additionally the envelope was issued in February 1860 and such an early usage makes this an exceptional item.
