Canada 1c postal stationery postcard from Montreal to England, water damaged and handstamped by violet boxed “DAMAGED BY IMMERSION/IN SEA WATER”, with a Glasgow arrival c.d.s. (March 21). From the R.M.S. “Labrador” which was wrecked on the Mackenzie Rock near Skerrymore Lighthouse in the Hebrides on February 28th. Seven bags of mail were washed ashore on the islands of Mull, Coll and Tiree and were sent to Glasgow where the mails were dealt with between March 10th and 21st, with one further mailbag being dealt with in Liverpool. A scarce and wreck cover.
