USA 2c postal stationery cover posted from South Africa to the USA with 1926 4d triangular tied by Rustenburg c.d.s. and a USA 10c air mail stamp cancelled in transit at New York.  The US stamp on this cover applied by the sender at Rustenburg to pay for the air service from New York to Cleveland.  US air mail stamps were sold in various overseas countries to enable prepayment of US internal air fees, their sale being explained in Australian Post Office Guides in the 1930s.
