Post Card from Frankfurt to a German internee from the S.M.S. “Albatross” at Wisby on the Swedish island of Gothland, but endorsed “Retour nicht S.M.S. Albatross” and returned to the sender at Leeheim. Handstamped with a “VISBY” arrival datestamp and the circular Censor cachet “MILITARCENSUR / WISBY”. The crew of the German Minelayer “Albatross”, which ran aground on the island of Gothland in July 1915, were the only military internees in Sweden in World War One.
