Yemen 1915 World War 1
Stampless official cover from the Health Ministry in Hodeida to the Sanitary Office on Camaran Island with bilingual “HOODEIDA” type 14 c.d.s (Aug 8), sent as far as Salif where it received the rare bilingual “SALIF (YEMEN)” type 1 c.d.s. (Sep 27) and was endorsed in Arabic “Return to Dersaadet due to was”, the island of Camaran having been occupied by the British since June. Received back at Hodeida on October 2nd with a further type 14 c.d.s. applied. A very unusual service suspended cover.
